The Bodega x New Balance 997S “Better Days” is a special collaboration cooked up by the Boston area boutique on New Balance’s stately 997 runner. A sequel to Bodega’s “No Days Off” theme that focused on performance principals, the “Better Days” motif captures a lifestyle aesthetic with materials and neutral colors associated with casual footwear. It begins with grey suede detailing on the toe and continues with a beige mesh on the forefoot. A slightly darker shade of tan leather appears on the mid-panel, where a mustard “N” breaks up the look. Beige and purple embroidered “997S” insignia is stitched onto the brown synthetic material that appears in a waffle-like pattern on the heel. Multicolor “NB” branding graces the top of the tongue.
